Tested on the Garmin 205W and my personal opinion of the Garmin navigator is pretty handy. Though some functions didn’t seem to work like searcing for a particular place by searching my street address didn’t quite find anything. However you’ll never get lost with this baby.

The good thing about this is that whenever you are some place - e.g. Taiping - and you needed to find a place to eat, a couple push of a button - e.g. finding some place of interest like restaurants and wah la.. you could get a whole range of restaurant choices.

Overall it is a good buy. For about RM950 ++ you may want to consider buying this gadget.

Its been about a month now with my Nikon D40 DSLR and here is my personal review.

First of all I didn’t want to spend a hell of a lot on a DSLR. As a beginner trying out if photography is really my kind of thing and after much research I decided on the Nikon D40. I bought this camera at foto shangri-la for about RM1,680.00 which includes - D40 kit with lense, battery, screen protector, tripod, bag, 2GB memory card and uv filter. I know some places you could get it for around RM1,600.

After shooting around for like a month - well most of the time its been sitting at home but when I have a chance I will shoot away - I am quite impress with what it or I could do with it. It turned me into sort of a pro photographer. It doesn’t take that long to learn either.

Lets say if I had the extra cash would I choose a better camera like the d60 or the alpha models for just a little more? My choice would be the same. I would still get the D40. Anything better or slightly better models or features or better mega pixels will cost an additional RM 400+ more and I wasn’t willing to part with that amount of money just to see if photography was in me. So overall for the newbie who wishes to venture into DSLR and not sure if lugging around a huge camera is for you but would like to try out, then go for the D40. It is rather a safe bet.

I bought a Belkin slim backpack for my notebook and I have never been so impressed with this bag. I never thought I would be buying a notebook bag that looks like a backpack. It feels like going back to secondary school carrying one of these but the backpack proved all my theories wrong.

The Belkin slim backpack is very practical, allowing me to lug my slim notebook, cables, mouse and other stuffs around with ease. The belkin has a lot of compartments and a pouch to put all my cables in place - exactly the way I like it. Overall it is a highly recommended backpack and moreover it looks good. Comes with different colours as well and I got mine for  RM160 - cheaper than most backpacks or notebook back.  I got it at lowyat.net from a friendly retailer. Highly recommended.

Inside the belkin slim backpack. The part that protects the notebook is made of velvet. Real nice quality and feel. Compartments inside are well organised - I am able to put my pen, passport, cable pouch, mouse, etc and organise them really well.
