In yesterday’s episode - the Amazing Race Asia Season 3, Henry and Bernie got eliminated. The Hong Kong boys were almost eliminated but were lucky to get to the pit stop first. Ida and Tania made it 3rd from last place and we are very proud of you guys.

Henry and Bernie screwed up at the MAS Kargo and the flight to India - missing their connecting flight they very well know that they are last but didnt really rushed it. They had the potential to be in the last three but it seems now that Malaysians have only Ida and Tania left.

Ida and Tania was very competitive. The two went all out at every challenge - running and catching up. They made the right choices in the  flight to India and were first at one time but in the last couple of incident - the only came in second but with the time penalty, they were 3rd.

It would be interesting to see what will happen in the next challenge. I am having doubts now that perhaps maybe the filipinos may be the ones to take the throphy this time. Let see.

Pre war buildings is what I see everyday on my way to work. I work at one of the oldest parts of KL - though it is not as hipped or glamorous as KLCC area but I have grown fond of this part of KL. Where can you find dark alleys of food stalls which serves the best indian rojak or wan ton mee anymore in CBD, where can you find yourself eating mixed rice upstairs a chinese shop lot that was built in the 1800s.

However not all have been preserved - some are about to be torned down to make way for new development like the picture below. Its sad to see them go one by one. Here is a little write up about pre war buildings.

The historical buildings in Malaysia are unique and attractive. Their designs can be traced from the Malay, Chinese, Indian, European and Middle Eastern cultures brought by traders who came to migrate or trade in the 16th century. These buildings are valuable assets to this country for their historical values and tourism potential. (Yeah right - tourism potential for club crawlers) Historical buildings in Malaysia may possibly be classified into six categories; namely shop houses, commercial buildings, religious buildings, private houses, palaces and institutional buildings[2]. Most of these buildings are located in the commercial or highly populated areas like major cities and towns in Malaysia.

Studies have shown that the structures of these buildings are still solid and intact, and safe for occupation until today. A survey carried out by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 1993 on pre war buildings in Malaysia had shown that there were about 37,000 units of historic pre war buildings built between 1800 and 1948, in which most of the buildings have not been properly preserved.

Its been like 6-7 months now since Hero came into our lives. Hero has changed our lives quite a bit. He has also grown quite a bit ever since we got him as a 4 kg little puppy. He now weighs over 20 kg and can pounce on anyone. The thing that I hate about having a dog in the house is …

1. Furs - his hair is flying every where and we are having difficulty cleaning in. Everywhere in the house is fur. My shirt, trousers and face has all Hero’s furs. *sigh*

2.  He bites and eats everything in sight - still does…

3. Having a dog is like having a child. We go for quick outings afraid that something might happen to Hero at home.He is so big that it is hard bringing him around. The tough part will be when we do make trips - guess the only way is to send him to the pet hotel.

4. House looks like the dog pound now… with hair, dog smell, and bits and pieces of his things everywhere … Sigh ..

Despite all of the above we have accommodated Hero into our lives and he is very much apart of us.

By the way its a nice day today… lets go out Hero…

Guess who this is? “oh I forgot to shave this morning… ”

This episode was kinda a dissapointment for me. Why? Because :
1. Freakin’ Geoff and Tisha team got first place
2. They yielded our Malaysian team. OUR MALAYSIAN TEAM.
3. And the two Malaysian team came in last - forth and fifth.
The good thing is that no one was eliminated.

POST MORTEM : What happened in the race I would say was Bernie and Henry yielded and they were in sort of in the lead at 3rd but some how, some where - taxi problems and they came in forth. Tania and Ida however catched up quite a bit but took a wrong turn after the climb to the top. So that wasted some precious time but did good at the chinese horrorscope - so what I can say is that it will be a close game in the next race.The Hong Kong boys should have yielded the Filipinos - and for not yielding them they came in second. Boys wake up! Dont be such an asshole and start playing like a man. Sorry kinda pissed off with this episode. All I can say is the Filipino teams were creative and they took good chances that put them in the lead. I knew that they would be threat but their sneaky ways just irritates a lot of people I guess. Besides what is with the whistle?
